Diploid Seedlings

Adding a group shot of diploid seedlings.
A single blossom is shown in the third photo
below.
Gorgeous! Very pleased with this one.

7 inches
These diploid seedlings are the result of
seedlings crossed in hopes of getting large
green eyes.  This is my favorite.

The base color is frosted plum, very similar
to the frosted look of the plum fruit.
This one has what I call a character face, and
is a welcome sight each bloom day.

Purple Daylilies and Teeth

(Mort Morss x sdlg)
6.5-7 inches
This is my favorite one, and it is pod fertile.
I'll have to check in a day or so to see if the
pollen is fertile along with checking fertility
for the rest of these.

A Few Toothy Seedlings

(Biting Pumpkins x Spinefeld)

Decided to add this one as well. Hope the page
loads okay with all these. If not, please alert me
to the problem in the comments box, and
thanks in advance.
(Briar Patch x Spinefeld)

These are a few of the daylily seedlings with
teeth that I am working with. The above shows
a bit of a pattern and few teeth.

As you can see, I have crossed Spinefeld to
several different daylilies, and it is, in my
opinion, a great parent. I can't get a pod to set on
Spinefeld though, but I will keep trying.

(Biting Pumpkins x Spinefeld)
This one needs more of a fringy edge.
(Marina del Rey x Spinefeld)
This is the best for the toothy edge so far.
The last photo below shows this one at a
different angle.
(Briar Patch x Spinefeld)
It's a beginning. Needs more color.

My Favorite Dayliliy Seedlings of the Day

(Violet Becomes You x Home of the Free)
6.25 inches

Drool I did when I saw these beauties. The colors
are so dark they appear black in the garden.
Love all three, so I intend to make more of these
crosses.  We have been so pleased with the
seedlings this year, and I have taken well over
three thousand photos of them. I kid not.

We have been so busy in the garden that I've
had very little time to post. Things
are likely to slow down soon, as peak season
is almost here, and I will have more time to add
the photos.
I had no idea there were so many seedlings with
teeth and patterns in so many colors.
Very pleased indeed!

(Ivan Attitude x Open My Eyes sdlg)

Gorgeous!
(Jennifer Trimmer x Home of the Free)

Blooms larger at times. Such contrast with the
white edges. Love this one.

Oops, I damaged this one trying to get into
the seedling bed to take the photo. Photo taken in
very bright sun. Brilliant red in sun or shade.

Not quite open fully, but it was too hot to get

Photo taken in the sun. Blossom appears more
rosy in the shade.

Daylily Seedlings with Teeth

Not quite what I'm aiming for in the toothy
seedlings especially regarding the colors, but
it's a beginning. There are several more that
appear promising The above has a faint
patterned eye.
